Many churches observe the season of Lent. Lent is a season of forty days, not counting Sundays, which begins on Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday. Lent is a time of self-examination and reflection for many churches. A tradition during this time is Lenten lunches. Halesford United Methodist Churches and Epworth United Methodist Church are sponsoring a six week series of Lenten lunches, beginning on March 13, and are being held every Wednesday until April 17. The lunches will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church, 60 Merriman Way, Moneta, VA. 24121, from 12pm to 12:30pm. A bag lunch will be provided at the end of the service.
As Easter approaches we are entering the season of Lent. Lent is the 40 days, not including Sundays, before Easter which begins with Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday. Lent is a time of self-reflection. Lent will run from March 13th thru April 17th. During this time every Wednesday beginning on March 13th from 12:00 noon until 12:30 Epworth UMC will host a Lenten Luncheon service. This service will be help at Epworth UMC, 60 Merriman Way Road, Moneta, Va. A guest speaker will bring the word each Wednesday. Concluding each service a bag lunch will be provided. Please come out and join us for 30 minutes of fellowship and worship.
Due to impending weather conditions, all services for Halesford United Methodist Church have been cancelled for Sunday, December 9th and will resume on Sunday, December 16th at 11:00 am. God bless each of you and be safe.
Praise the Lord! There were 740 cases of canned vegetables collected that were then distributed to area food pantries.

Epworth and Halesford United Methodist Churches are sponsoring a International Tasting to be held at Epworth United Methodist Church, 60 Merriman Way Road, Moneta, VA, on August 11, from 4pm to 6pm. The Tasting will be a time to sample cuisines from countries outside the United States. Each individual or business will have a table to showcase their country’s cuisine. The donors will be given 5 minutes to introduce their country, and in the case of businesses, market their company. In a diverse society, food provides an insight into culture. Epworth and Halesford United Methodist Churches invite you to come and learn about our country and the diversity that we enjoy as Americans! We are looking for cooks! You can support this exciting event by cooking and donating food to represent a country of your choice. This multi-cultural International Tasting is a time to become acquainted with and appreciate cultures that share our country, as well as enjoy samples of food provided. HALESFORD UMC REVIVAL All are invited to three nights of Revival, July 18th, 19th, and 20th, at Halesford United Methodist Church, 1601 Lakewood Forest Road, Moneta. Preaching the Word will be: Rev. Halesford United Methodist Church excitedly invites you to Men’s/Women’s Day at Halesford UMC on June 10! The 11 am service will be preached by Minister Shawna Banks, from Positive Impact Ministries. Maundy Thursday service will be held at Halesford UMC, March 29, at 7pm. The service will include foot washing and Communion. Good Friday night service will be held at Burnt Chimney, March 30th at 7pm. There will be an Easter egg hunt at Burnt Chimney on March 31. April 1st is Easter, there will be a potluck breakfast at 8am at Epworth UMC with worship service at 9:30am, followed by a cantata at Burnt Chimney at 11am. Halesford UMC will host a Women’s workshop on April 21, 9:30am to 2pm. Please mark your calendars and come celebrate this wonderful time in the Lord.
